JK Rowling, the author of the bestselling series, which follows the adventures of boy wizard Harry Potter, revealed last week she intends to kill off two characters in the seventh and final Harry Potter novel, BANG media reports.
JK Rowling, however, refused to reveal the name of the due to be eliminated, for fear of hate mail.
However, the writer didn't deny the rumours of Harry Potter's death.
"I'm not going to commit myself, because I don't want the hate mail or anything else," JK Rowling said, as reported by British media, "I've never been tempted to kill him, Harry, off before the end of book seven, because I always planned seven books."
Rupert Adams, spokesperson for British bookmakers William Hill, says, "The phones have not stopped ringing since JK said Harry might be killed off. "
However, some fans of the series have reacted to Rowling's decision by placing bets on who will kill teenage wizard. Most of the money has been for Professor Snape at 5/2 and Draco Malfoy at 6/1.
The favourite is Harry Potter's evil nemesis Voldemort at odds of 4/5.
