Canada-based natural goods retailer Planet Organic Health Corp will acquire a US-based counterpart named Mrs. Green's Natural Market, Inc, that operates 11 stores located in the New York/Connecticut, US area.

The purchase price will be disclosed upon closing the acquisition, which is expected by April 30.

"Mrs. Green's will be our largest acquisition to date. It will gives us a great platform to continue with further US expansion,” Planet Organic's chief financial officer Darren Krissie tells CosmeticNews.

“Our growth plan [in the US] includes the development of the Mrs. Green's banner and the opening of new stores under the Planet Organic Market banner," he adds.

Planet Organic Market's beauty offer include brands such as Dr Hauschka and Avalon Natural Products.

Planet Organic Health operates a total of 64 stores in Canada (eight natural food supermarkets under the Planet Organic Market banner, 50 natural supplement outlets called the Sangster's Health Centre and seven other outlets named Healthy's).

The company also owns manufacturer of natural supplements, Trophic Canada.
