Neutrogena Cosmetics has hired the Afghanistan-born molecular biologist/makeup artist Matin as its cosmetics science expert.

Matin will “lend his creative voice, science background and makeup artistry to the brand,” said a Neutrogena, Johnson & Johnson brand's spokesperson. Matin is known for his work with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Connelly.

Born in Afghanistan, the much sought-after artist Matin, a former spokesperson for the cosmetics brand Laura Mercier, has a masters in molecular biology and he plans to create his own skincare line.

 

Since making the switch from scientist to inspiring makeup artist, Matin has not forgotten about the impoverished women of his native country. In order to help them, Matin established the non-profit Afghan Hands, an organization where women gather to create handmade crafts, which enable, empower and prepare the women to go to work like free women throughout the world.
