With the warm weather finally here, many people are heading outside to enjoy the sun. Every day, millions of people go outside without sunscreen.
Every day, millions of people go outside without sunscreen. But, they could be putting themselves at risk for various forms of skin cancer, says Dr. Paul Antony, Chief Medical Officer for the Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers of America.
“More than ninety percent of all skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun, yet less than a third of adults, teens and children routinely use sun protection,” says Dr. Anthony.
“Just like buckling your safety belt every time you get into a car, apply a sunscreen with SPF 15 or more every time you go out into the sun. It'll reduce your chances of getting cancer and it could save your life.
Dr. Anthony says there's an added bonus when using sunscreen. Damage to your skin caused by the sun can be seen as early as your 20s. Use a sunscreen to help keep your skin looking young. And many today come with moisturizers that benefit your skin.
