Italian sex symbol Sophia Loren, 71, will pose in a slinky see-through black dress for the glossy, limited-edition Pirelli calendar

Lying in crumpled sheets with a mane of her famous wavy hair, Sophia Loren exudes sex appeal in the seductive shot which recalls the glamour of 1960s images, Daily Express (UK) revealed.

Sophia Loren will be the oldest woman to appear in Pirelli calendar.

"You have to be decisive when you want to do something you want and something that you have maybe wanted to do for some time," Sophia Loren said. She added she "had a lot of fun, like a young girl" during the secret day-long shoot at a studio in California.

 

With a hour-glass curves most women half her age would envy, Sophia Loren appears in the 2007 calendar alongside younger beauties including Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez and supermodel Giselle Bundchen.

Other actresses to appear in next year’s edition are Naomi Watts, Penelope Cruz, and Hilary Swank.

Each publication of the Pirelli calendar sparks a buzz around the world as it has become a collector’s item. Only 30,000 Pirelli calendars are published each year and are distributed to an exclusive list of clients, said to include Prince Andrew and the Sultan of Brunei.
