Brad Pitt to Rebuild New Orleans

Brad Pitt will judge design competition helping New Orleans to rebuild the city after Hurricane Katrina.

Brad Pitt has a huge passion for design – and now he's putting it to good use by helping New Orleans to rebuild the city after Hurricane Katrina.

Brad Pitt and the environmental organization Global Green USA are sponsoring the Sustainable Design Competition for New Orleans, a contest to find an Earth-friendly plan for housing and community centers in neighborhoods ravaged by Katrina.

"Our goal is to kick off the rebuilding effort," Brad Pitt told the Associated Press.

"It's certainly long overdue and I can only go from the reports that we get … that it's behind, absolutely. People are frustrated," Brad Pitt added.

"We could possibly build something that was better and took into account the historical traditions of the city and the voices of the people," Brad Pitt told AP.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are currently in Namibia waiting for the birth of their first baby.

Brad Pitt has designed some of his residences and he also designed jewelry for Damiani that Jennifer Aniston modeled in ads.

Brad Pitt later sued Damiani International, the company which made the wedding ring he gave Jennifer Aniston, for selling replica "Brad and Jennifer" rings.

According to Brad Pitt, the ring was his design and was to be exclusive.
