New mother Britney Spears has given fans a pleasant surprise, by showing off her slimmed-down figure during a dinner date with her husband Kevin Federline.
Britney Spears and Federline dined at Malibu, California, restaurant Moonshadow, where onlookers marvelled at how quickly the pop beauty shed her baby weight.
Spears' former trainer Bobby Strom says: "She's a pro. She knows what to do (to get back in shape)."
Britney Spears hadn't previously been seen out in public following the September 14 arrival of her son Sean Preston.
But is losing weight so fast healthy? "Good Morning America" medical correspondent Dr. David Katz says to ABC News, that losing weight too quickly can be actually bad for new mom's health.
Recommended weight gain during pregnancy is between 15 and 30 pounds, and a =healthy weight loss after giving birth is one pound per week. The best way to lose is a healthy diet, portion control and moderate exercise.
Losing weight too quickly can dry up breast milk, or compromise the nutrients in the breast milk. The mother can also lose important nutrients if she's not eating right and breastfeeding. Plus, breastfeeding itself can burn 500 calories a day.
