David Bowie has apparently become a fitness fanatic.

Bowie, 58, has been spotted working out at the Breathe Fitness club in New York where he lives with his wife Iman and their five-year-old daughter Alexandria.

David Bowie underwent heart surgery in June 2004 just months after quitting his lifetime cigarette habit.

David Bowieis due to perform onstage for the first time in more than a year at New York's Fashion Rocks event at the Radio City Music Hall on September 8.

Destiny's Child, Duran Duran and Alicia Keys are among the other performers.
