ROLPH SCARLETT: ART, DESIGN AND JEWELRY

12 July 2007, 00:00

The distinguished Canadian artist Rolph Scarlett had a remarkable 75-year career as a painter, designer and creator of unique jewelry. Scarlett was a leading practioner of geometric abstraction during the 1930s and 1940s when he was associated with New York’s Museum of Non-Objective Painting. Judith Nasby will be discussing Scarlett’s unique American modernist jewelry. Bring your lunch and enjoy the presentation!

Rolph Scarlett: Art, Design and Jewelry is a touring exhibition organized by The Macdonald Steward Art Center. This is the first exhibition to document Scarlett’s modernist design drawing and jewelry. Curated by Judith Nasby, MSAC Director, the exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Decorative Arts Collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
