  Philippe Dubuc

Philippe Dubuc Since the launch of his first menswear collection in 1993, Montreal-based Philippe Dubuc has continued to prove that a designer can become a global success story while maintaining a distinctive couturier edge.

Today, Philippe Dubuc has carved out his own niche in the fashion industry with his impeccably tailored and sleekly sensual designs. His inspirations are diverse, and each season Philippe Dubuc redefines what it means to be urban. At the core of his thinking is that clothing should reflect the soul and always play on individuality. Rather than impose a look, Philippe Dubuc proposes it, crossing the line between menswear and womenswear.

36-year old Philippe Dubuc has been handpicked as Canadian ambassador for Moet & Chandon, the prestigious champagne house renowned for supporting some of the world’s top designers. Philippe Dubuc is the first Canadian to show his menswear collections to the discerning pret-а-porter circles in Paris. His New York showroom is attracting increasing attention from fashionable Manhattanites. In addition, Tokyo’s stores are now displaying his clothing designs. In London, Philippe Dubuc was the only designer from Canada to be invited to participate in the Men in Skirts exhibition at the Victoria and Alberta Museum, along with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith and Vivienne Westwood.

On the local front, Philippe Dubuc is a five-time recipient of the Matinee Fashion Foundation grant to leading Canadian designers. He has been twice honored with the title of Canadian Designer of the Year, Griffe d’Or Fashion Awards.

Since the launch of its first collection in 1993, DUBUC has transcended trends with its unabashedly urban and uncompromising creations. A constant source of inspiration for DUBUC prevails – milieu, friends and love for Montreal, trend-setting metropolis, and like Philippe Dubuc’s clothing, boldly projects a unique and personal style.

Philippe Dubuc and his partner Marie-Claude Gravel do fashion in a different way. For these entrepreneurs, wearing clothing is all about defining an image. It means taking creative thinking and marketing to its fullest potential and driving your company’s rapid growth.

Today DUBUC is sold Canada-wide and through its flagship boutique on Montreal’s vibrant Saint-Denis St – strategic location that inspires the designer to take the pulse of the city.
